Get ready for an unforgettable day of baseball, softball, mentorship, and community as the EMC Love Foundation, in partnership with R2CARES, proudly presents Evan’s Legacy Baseball & Softball Camp—an annual event honoring the life, love, and legacy of Evan Michael Chambers.

This high-energy camp is open to boys and girls ages 5–12 and is designed to inspire young athletes, build confidence, and show our youth what’s possible—on the field and in life.

 

Why This Event Matters

The Evan Michael Chambers LOVE Foundation (Lifting Oneself and Others to Victory and Excellence) was established in 2016 to honor Evan Chambers—a Lakeland High School standout, Pittsburgh Pirates draft pick, and an exceptional young man whose life was tragically cut short in 2013 due to an undetected heart condition.

Evan lived with purpose, passion, and love—and this camp continues his mission by pouring into the youth of our community.

 

Purpose of Evan’s Legacy Baseball Classic

2. Inspire youth by connecting them with high school and professional athletes

3. Create an exciting, family-friendly community baseball and softball experience

4. Build an annual regional tradition rooted in love, leadership, and excellence

 

Mentorship Through R2CARES

In support of the R2CARES mission, local high school baseball programs will serve as mentors, giving youth players and families the opportunity to interact directly with student-athletes who are walking the path they aspire to follow.

Participating high schools include:• Lakeland High School• Mulberry High School• Winter Haven High School• George Jenkins High School• Victory Christian Academy

This mentorship experience allows youth players and parents to connect, ask questions, and see firsthand that their dreams are achievable.

We are honored to welcome current and former MLB/ MILB professional  players who will spend time with our community before heading into spring training, including:
